BNolan Software

This page will give you an overview of how to use the latest version of Weather Pilot.

The first screen you will see is the Add Station ICAO screen.  From this dialog you can put in a space delimited list of ICAOs or if you have added ICAOs to your favorites list select them from your list and press the Add button.  Pressing the Cancel button exits out of the dialog.  These ICAO identifiers are for airport and weather observation stations.

As mentioned before you can type one ICAO identifier or several of them.  If you are putting in a list then the identifiers need to be separated by a space.

Once you have added a new set of stations the stations are placed at the top of the screen and the latest METAR observation and TAF forecast for the station is obtained.

You will also notice that the station ICAO is a button that can be clicked.  Doing so will cause a menu to appear giving a listing of options available for the station.  If the station has location information available for display then the Information and Show Map menu options will be available.   Additionally, if this station has not been added to the favorites list then the Add to Favorites option will be visible.  Finally, a Remove option is available to take the station off of the screen.

Once you have added a station as a favorite you will see it in the Add Station dialog under the Favorite ICAOs text.  Clicking on the station selects it to be added to the main window.  Click the X removes it from the favorites listing.  If this is done by accident you can easily add it back in by adding it to the display and then selecting the Add to Favorites menu option.

The other options available are on the main screen.  If you have stations listed on the main screen then you can select the Refresh button to update all METAR and TAF information.  Selecting the Menu gives you the option to Remove All stations from the main screen, view the About application dialog, go to the Help site for this version of the app, and visit the BNolan.org home page.
